Tennyshoes: fish heads...

my friend from the eastern us said that tennyshoes with rubber covering the toe part were very unpopular and made fun of by calling them fish heads.

this never happened in the northwest.. have you ever heard of this?

in the northwestern us, they were very common at school, but nike had them beat.

How do you confront someone abusing their daughter?

seeing how child abuse has affected many people here, i am hoping for some advice.

we have friends of our family that have it on good authority that a father is abusing his four year old daughter.

he's always seemed rather creepy to me, which is a bit of the problem.

the grandmother was finally able to pry her granddaughter away for an overnight sleepover and talked to the child in terms that she'd understand. From the conversation, it was very apparent that he's abusing her.

I think it would be good for the grandmother to take the daughter to a counselor someone who is trained and able to identify abuse in a 4 year old! Besides there is a lot of mental harm that goes along with a child who is abused prior to 6 years of age. Also she should be taken to the doctor to see if there are any scares!

YOU have a responsiblity to collect the names of the people involved, child's name and parents, plus their address, grandmother's name, and call CPS! Why wait, it is a child and why should she stay in a house one more night with a father who may or may not be abusing her. Let CPS deal with it and no one needs to know you made the phone call! If the father is innocent maybe he will get some help with his anger! It really is your business!

Sometimes family members will cover up abuse!

Revelation 11 appears to be earthly.

But as for the courtyard that is outside the temple [sanctuary], cast it clear out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.

In the heaven there is a temple with a courtyard that will be given to the nations, and who will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months? The nations?

So where is the courtyard located if the temple is in heaven?

Just like a good JW I will say, "Oh, well it's just spiritual."

I think we have been lied to regarding the WTBTS articles about the UN. I always thought there was something wrong with the rumors and did not by into the UN scandel much. So big deal the WTBTS wrote article about the UN! and they are a NGO! Not enough reason to walk away from the oganization!

At least this site you found, the guy put enough information together to explain the facts. He gathered his information and explained it well enough to expose the lies about the UN theories!

You might be a newbie, I hope you realize that some of the people on here believe the whole theory! Do you understand that you help expose the lies by posting this thread?

I hope you are aware that there so many other things about the WTBTS that are strange and worth exposure that are honest. Now, the truth comes out that someone who is a liar manipulates facts regarding WTBTS articles on the UN. For some people that was an important fact regarding the Jehovahs Witnesses and some might have walked away because of this con artist ability to manipulate a large number of people!

There are many exjws who do research and they are not like this guy! Most people want you to know the true facts and not manipulate facts with lies! Even some of these people who write books about the Jehovah's Witness are not telling the entire truth! They seem to have a slant on the truths! or it like they are writing for non JWs. Well that how books make money and people become known!

I hope you do research to find facts! The only way you are going to find the truth is to read and do your own research. Do not believe everything bad about the WTBTS as truths! some of it is just hipe and this one is proof!

Thanks for posting that thread, and yes I do believe the guy exposed the liar because his facts are clear and the WTBTS was not in the wrong regarding the United Nations!

Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw

i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.

i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!

she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

Hello R, I think it would be okay to go back and start studying with the JWs! I think some of the talks were good for me to hear! not all the studies were bad some of it was okay. I enjoyed growing up as a JW with my friends. Most people on here want to connect with who? People they knew as JWs and that should tell you something.

Also, my big issue has always been Trinity! Although there are many religions that do not believe in Trinity they take on other strange doctrines such as praying to Mary, rituals, satan is not real, Jesus is Jehovah, Jesus and Jehovah are seperate Gods however the Holy Spirit is not!

The United Nations, the Scarlet Colored Beast and the Watchtower

this week, the watchtower society set about vilifying the united nations as the scarlet colored beast.

i learned from the revelation book, chapter 34, that it was knorr who started the trend with his public talk in 1942. the revelation book suggests that the league of nations and then the united nations that followed, are direct fulfillments of the prophecy in revelation 17:8. here's an excerpt from the book:.

"the un is actually a blasphemous counterfeit of god's messianic kingdom by his prince of peace, jeus christ - to whose princely rule there will be no end.

Which sin would be considered unforgiving? deliberating misrepresenting Jesus words, or the 14 points to peace?

Rutherford changed Jesus words to prove his doctrine. In the bible when Jesus said that there will be “wars and report of wars!” that does not point to any certain war. Rutherford quoted that Jesus states, “1914 and report of wars!” He deleted the word wars and placed it with 1914.

In the book "Jehovah" written by Rutherford. The last chapter claimed that the United Nations was Satan organization, and if you were ready to become baptized one must believe that the Jehovah's Witnesses were God's organization.

Although, Woodrow Wilson went against the Constitution of the United States, he struggled with finding ways to end the war. He wrote the 14 points to peace. During war time, he threw a bunch of papers out of a plane window so that people would lay down their weapons, it worked. Later, he gathered the nations together and presented the 14 points to peace and security with boardering countries. Later, the 14 points to peace became the foundation for the United Nations.

Many religions, not just the Jehovah's Witness, thinks that the United Nations symbolically represents the Beast. In the last 2,000 years what organizations would YOU consider Revelations two beasts? Do YOU think that we are in the times spoken in Mathew?

The Jehovah Witnesses claim that only the 144,000 that should partake the little flock! However, this is a mixed multitude which could have repented and later partook which would have made them the great crowd!
Hope you do not mind if I repeated what you wrote! Just a different thought!

Unless you eat says it all! All who believe in Christ and partake will have eternal life if the father draws him to Jesus!
No man can come to Jesus unless the FATHER who draws him.
Now anyone, people, multitude, who are worthy to partake will believe that the Father has sent Jesus will have eternal life! He is the only one who came from the Father!
Because of one man's sacrifice there is victory over death and sin! and the hope for eternal life!
How come the WTBTS does not sing songs after the passover?
That sure is a lot easier than what the WTBTS teaches, but they do have the right to worship the way they want and are under the grace of God!

they are pretty much glorifying themselves (the gb and anointed that is) and putting unto themselves the names of a prophet and only source for interpretation of the bible.

whatever the hell they decide to make of the bible is law and should be accepted good willingly!.

because they were named by the master jesus christ.

Anointed only means people who partake. Hmm! In reality partaking only means that you remember Jesus Christ! Yes you agree what Jesus says and who he is the son of God! and that is not for some but all who believe!

It has nothing to do with entering heavens and belonging to a certain kind of flock, or group!

You are a smart one because it took me 35 years to understand that they are a little off in their writings. I can tell you are struggling! Hang in there!

Kind of hard to notice that the GB or 144,000 is taking the place of Jesus himself. I mean I went into such a shock because of that topic!

Your are right on with your reasoning! No one can take the place of Jesus!

Go read the books of Enoch and tell me what you think? I was shocked that the WTBTS would even quote from the book myself! All though I did enjoy reading them, as far as I am concerned Enoch books should not be taken serious.

At least we know where the WTBTS came up with the fallen angels marrying earthly women doctrines.

I still wonder if they will ever find a serious Enoch book! probably not in my time.

Jesus as Michael

let me start by stating that i'm not a jehovah's witness but have family who have been discussing it with me and i am hoping for a better answer than i have gotten thus far.

i can find no scriptural backing for jesus being the arch-angel michael.

in fact i find things that seem to show me that they are two distinctly different beings.

Okay guys..... I ABSOLUTELY think Jesus is Michael..... reasons?
1. Who else will battle Satan in the Great Trib and throw him out of heaven?
2. Who else would stand up for his people in the Great Trib as in Dan. 12:1?
Those 2 things are only the job of Jesus.. no one else. IMHO.....

1. Jesus commands ten thousand times ten thousand angels. When he opens the seals the angels do what he says including mighty angels, strong angels, arch angels, 24 elders, and the creatures. When Jesus opens up the seals, Jesus commands all the angels and they react to what Jesus tells them what to do. In my view point, Jesus will command his arch angels with a voice of an arch angel and all the angels will know him! Michael will battle Satan and throw him out of heavens because Jesus will command it! as well as giving someone the key to open and close the abyss. It really is all about Rev 5.

2. Daniel 12:1 so what if Micheal stands up for Daniels people?

Not even the WTBTS Daniels Prophecy book claims to be certain as to which Angel is speaking to Daniel. Daniels Prophecy, see foot notes after chapter 8 .

In Daniel 10, one can assume that there is only one angel who strengthen Daniel and someone standing in front of Daniel. One also could say that the Lord Jesus was having a conversation with Daniel and was standying in front of Daniel while Gabriel was strengthen Daniel Jesus could have declared "..there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael, your prince."

So if Jesus is declaring and standing in front of Daniel then he could not be the prince of Daniel! There are three characters in Daniel 10. You can pick and choose!

Daniel 12:1 Stated what Michael's role is and that is giving Daniel hope that Michael is standing up for his, Daniels, people.

You still need to figure out Daniel 10! Which angel is doing what, and was it Jesus or another angel speaking about Micheal. Does this make Michael, Jesus because he is standying up? NO! IT does make him watching over Daniels people and preventing any harm to come to them. It does make him a prince! Who knows maybe that another name for an angel with higher authority or a guardian angel. It looks like it gave Daniel hope!

Again, no one really knows if that was Jesus speaking to Daniel or just another Angel speaking about another angel Michael. We can assume, that it is angels speaking about other angels!

I do know this one, if Jesus was speaking and Gabriel was touching Daniel then Michael could not be Jesus, because Jesus is referring Michael as the prince who will stand up!

Some claim it is just Gabriel because Jesus tells Gabriel to tell Daniel in earlier verses. However, that does not mean that Jesus later did not appear to Daniel himself because something appeared to have changed in verse 10.

I can state what most people will say to you," it is a vision and not real."

Consider two things that Jesus commands using many angels to perform the action yet Jesus will get recognition because he was, Lamb.
